13.15-14.30 today: Workshop at ERS Congress

 ROOM M2 (B0), ERS CONGRESS
13.15-14.30, 8 September 2014

Join us for the Practical Workshop “Secretion management – Innovative treatment methods for COPD and Neuromuscolar patients”! Hands-on accounts of major Italian and German excellence centres with the Pegaso and Mini Pegaso Cough and percussion therapy will be given. The workshop will show in-depth practical experience with neuromuscular, quadriplegic and COPD patients and provide an authentic guideline on how to successfully treat the secretion problems of these patients. You will see several case histories and learn about innovative treatment methods using the PEGASO’s percussion therapy. This therapy is used for patients who need Intrapulmonary percussive ventilation, due to mucus hyper-secretion or deeply retained secretions combined with an extreme difficulty in clearing airways.

13:15 PEGASO A-COUGH PERC: Overview of the application fields and their treatment with percussion and cough assistant therapy. Guideline to parameter settings in a critical care and homecare setting.
Speaker: J. Geiseler (Gauting, Germany)
13:30 High and lower flow percussion therapy – analysis of the differences and suitable treatment parameters. Percussion therapy in ICU with the PEGASO & MINI PEGASO A-COUGH PERC.
Speaker: M. Boccali (Imola, Italy)
13:45 Hands on – practical demonstration of the use of PEGASO & MINI PEGASO A-COUGH PERC.

“Clear as the moon… “ the new LUNA ventilator by Dima Italia
To be released in December 2014. Dima Italia’s latest device Luna is a pressure-controlled portable ventilation that focuses on the essential and goes straight to the point. It combines the most recent technological advancements with straightforward usability and functions, without unnecessary complications - easy to use, clear as the moon.
Pressure-controlled ventilation is the most popular ventilation form and is also recommended by the German Board of Ventilation due to its reduced lateral effects (S2 – Leitlinie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Pneumologie und Beatmungsmedizin e.V.).
Our field experience within medical wards and the feedback received from health professionals has taught us that less is more and that thoughtful simplification is a value to cherish, thus the prompt to develop the LUNA ventilator. Its extensive lithium battery autonomy, providing over 10 hours of therapy, ensures the patient’s freedom of movement. Its reliability and portability are comforting and reassuring for patients. Click here to download the brochure.

New Multilevel
Dima Italia is proud to announce the release of the new Multilevel, sporting a new design and improved precision and performance in parameter monitoring.
Small yet powerful, the Multilevel is light-weight and quiet. It offers 5 ventilation modes - CPAP, Timed, Spontaneous, Spontaneous timed and the useful Spontaneous with plateau. Also known as Small alveoli ventilation, the latter provides a constant pressure at the end of inspiration, similar to a hold manoeuvre (1 to 3 seconds), which prevents the patient to exhale and keeps the alveoli open.
The models ST30V and ST40V also offer target volume ventilation, adding volume ventilation characteristics to a pressure ventilator: when setting the minimum target volume, the MULTILEVEL will adjust the positive pressure for each breath to reach exactly the target volume. This mode helps to promote the flow synchrony between the patient and can be useful in the weaning process, allowing to gradually increase the patient’s effort. Click here to see the brochure

Negative Pressure Ventilation Portal www.negativepressureventilation.com (under development)
What is the current state of negative pressure ventilation? Which centers offer it and who are the experts in this field? Dima Italia is currently working on a portal on Negative Pressure Ventilation that will be a digital think-tank on modern negative ventilation. If you are an expert and would like to contribute or share medical articles please get in touch with us at service@dimaitalia.com.

Our negative pressure ventilator Pegaso Vent will be on display at our booth S02 at ERS Congress, along with some of its accessories, such as cuirasses and the prototype of a new ventilation chamber. Please feel free to come along and assist to a demonstration!
